ap rate questions

I am getting married at Disney next June. Since we will be staying more than a week and will also need to make a site visit (probably in January) we are interested in getting at least one or two AP's. Some of the info that I've read says that you don't need the AP to book the AP rate for the hotel reservation (you just have to present a valid AP at check-in). IS THIS TRUE? I know that new AP room rates come out tomorrow and would like to book a room for our site visit in January. Would I be able to make the reservation without already possessing the AP or AP voucher?

you don't need an AP to book at AP rate, but you need either an AP or voiucher when you check in. I don't know if the rates coming out tomorrow will be for January or not, though.

you do need AP to check into the resort or a voucher but you do not need it to make reservations. I just did this last month. as far as the AP rates that are coming out tomorrow they are just for the rest of this yr, not sure of the date in December, I am also waiting for next Junes rates but I don't think that happenes till 3 or 4 months before the month. You can still book a room then when the rates come out call and they can rebook, I am doing it this way, the only bad thing is you have to pay the initial deposit at rack rate but they will add that to your total bill when you get the new AP rates.

You do not need the ap to book the room. Just make sure you have it or a voucher when you check in.

CRO told me the AP rates would be good through 12/19 only.

I'll back up that information about the 12/19 date.
