AP rate questions

Two questions -

(1) Am considering buying an annual pass since we are planning 2 trips later this year. Didn't want to buy the pass until close to the time of our 1st trip. CRO wouldn't give me an AP rate since I didn't have the pass yet. Should I call back, give them the code and hope for someone else, or how does that work?

(2) Our 1st trip will be with other family members who need a separate room. It is my understanding I can get 2 rooms on our Annual Pass rate. But they will probably arrive one day before us or minimally early on the day that we arrive late. But CRO says the person with the pass has to check in 1st. Is there any way around this? Or is it possible to pay the regular rate for 1 room 1 night and get the annual pass rate for the rest of the trip.

Am counting on someone's expert advice. Thanks so much.

Annie930,

I have booked the AP discount rate 7 times now and have always been given the AP discount.. You just have to buy your APasses when you get there.. Thats the way it has always been for us. They check in our luggage when we pull up and than we take the bus to one of the parks and buy AP's and than we go back to our hotel and check in...Never been a problem..So call back and just say you would like a price for whatever dates with an AP rate..I just did mine last month and if things have changed you would have seen it on this forum.. The people here know everything..Hope this helps you out..

Hello anne930-
I'm surprised that you couldn't get the AP rate when you called to book a room. You don't need to have an AP until you check-in at the resort. When you arrive, if you don't have an AP then they might charge you the regular rate for that time of year. If you prepay and then don't have an AP, they would just charge you the difference of the higher rate minus what you've already paid. We waited until we got there and first went down to Epcot got our AP's and then checked in at our resort. You can get more then 1 room with your AP discount, but you must be present to check-in. If it's just earlier in the same day, they can leave all their luggage at the resort's bell service and go and enjoy the parks or pool until you get there. If the wait will be too long before you arrive they could book 1 night at the resort, check-out the day you arrive and re-check-in with your AP rate. They may be able to stay in the same room, if they want to. (check first with the resort front desk)

I too have booked my ressies before buying my AP.

I even checked in before buying my AP. I told them I had to go get it before checking in, and they said to go ahead and check in without it, and show them the AP later. They never even asked for it again, although I did make it a point to show them my pass later in the day. This was at YC Concierge.

If they insist upon a code when making ressies, check out mousesavers.com. They ususally have AP codes listed there. Follow the path to the AP discounts.

Hope this helps! Nicole
