i need to book 2 adjoining rooms for our group of 6 will i get the ap discount on both rooms or just 1 room then? anyone know?

Only 1 I understand. One room per AP, whether they're connecting or adjoining -- they're still 2 separate rooms.

By the way, in most cases connecting or adjoining (2 different things) are not guaranteed by WDW. They are a request only, unless you have a situation where you only have 1 adult with multiple kids -- then they *might* guarantee a connecting room.
