AP Rate/Dining Plan Question

We are considering booking a room with an AP rate for July. We haven't decided if we would like to add dining yet. Can you add the dining plan later on without having to cancel the AP room only ressie and rebook it as a package?

You have to add the DDP at least 3 days in advance of the trip. They have to cancel your room only reservation and re-book it as a package, there's no other way....I've done this about 5 times in the past couple of years
