AP rate but wanting to extend AP

My current ap expires the 9th of November, my trip is the 9th of December, I want to buy a new ap when I get there in December (so my date is farther out) instead of renewing my current ap.

Can I book a room with the AP rate for December even if my ap expires 1 month before and I am not "officially renewing"?

Yes you can. You just need to have your AP within 24 hours of checking in. You don't need it to book the room.
