AP questions...

DH and I were wondering... what's the going price on an AP? And what are the perks (besides the obvious unlimited entry for a year). And if by chance someone knows this off the cuff... at what point is it more advantageous to purchase an AP versus a length-of-stay, taking into account the DVC discount on LOS passes? (i.e. I vaguely recall something about after a 9 or 10 day stay that the AP was the cheaper option...)

We always bought park hopper passes while our kids were little, and more recently, we bought PH+ to utilize the water parks now that our kids are a bit older (8,7, and 3). It sure would be nice to just come and go from the parks a little each day of a trip. We typically only go every 18 mos, but if we had an AP, I guess we'd have to work out an 11 mos trip to take extra advantage....

All info appreciated!

WE usually plan a minimum of two trips in a 365 day period, so we can use an AP for at least 20 days. By planning your annual trips just under a year apart, you can get the best value out of an AP. WE have always felt 8 days was the breaking point, but I think you are right, that that is a little low now. At any rate, two planned trips per AP works out GREAT for us!

THanks for the info and links...

Looks like it's still more practical for us to get the PH+ and just space out our trips to the parks. Our gang is really into the water parks now, so if we went with an AP, we would have to purchase water parks tickets (or alternatively, justify cost of a premium AP). Someday, when our schedules allow more frequent trips (no more kids in school and soccer/baseball schedules!) the APs would probably pay off, but not just yet.

THanks again!

Cindy -

The other consideration is do you have any hopper with only pluses left. We usually don't do water parks (time of year, DD's age in the past, etc.) So now I am buying an AP and using up my old plus features.

Just another thought
Sandy
