I filled out the package to order by mail for the francilien pass. We are about 90 days out from our trip.

Several questions come to mind: There is an offer for renew and get 18 months. Our pass expired already. Can we get this offer or is for only current AP holders?

I am mailing in the form to get around the 2 day hold period on the type of AP we are getting. Could I buy a 2 day/2 park ticket and then apply the cost to the AP? If it is possible, how do I do it and what are the rules?

Thanks for all the help! I need it.

1. You can choose between 15% shareholder discount or 6 more month. I would mention it on the renew form. Something like "Please: 6 more month offer".

2. I can help you with that because I never did it this way. The AP you will get via post is a fully activated Francilien without the first block out dates. So I guess you don´t need a 2 day ticket.

Don't think you can get the extra 6 months, if your AP has already expired.

And like ThBa says, if you get the passes through mail, there shouldn't be block-out days on the Francillien.

I am sorry I didn't make it clear in my post, which happens a lot for me.

If I don't send the mail package, can we buy a two day ticket then apply it towards the AP and purchase it while we are there?

When did your passes expire? I don't have my paperwork on hand at the moment (got my own AP yesterday), but I think a grace period of a month was mentioned for renewing.

If you don't do through the mail yes you can buy a two day ticket and apply it to the AP and upgrade on the day.

Our passes are already expired. Vala, can you explain how it works with the 2 day ticket and the timing to get the AP? It seems like an easier solution with less stress than mailing the package for mail delivery

I booked my ticket online, scanned it in and went straight to the AP office. Asked the CM there I'd like to upgrade to an AP and that's it.

If you have enough time I'd personally do mail order. The lines at the AP office can be hell and the CMs there are pretty slow.

We went once before luckily on a weekday first thing and it was a few people. The next day was Saturday and the line went out the building and down the walkway. It was bad.

I'm working on the timing of it with a two day ticket. If I buy the two day first thing in the morning, but then go to the AP office to get the pass, will I still be holding the two day tickets and are they valid for the parks? I will need to use them because of the hold on the pass then can use the pass to get in on the 3rd day.

I see where doing this all online and not having 2 months is almost worth it rather than tickets/AP office/hold times.

maybe i'm missing something - if you're going to go to the AP office anyway to get your AP, why are you buying one-day or 2-day park tickets first to then upgrade them? Why not just buy your AP at the entrance to the parks, or at Guest Services (thats always where I do it) then you get a temp ticket and your receipt, take them to the AP office, and get your AP done?

I don't think you can buy then use 2 day tickets as part payment towards a francilien pass and then keep them to cover entrance on the 2 non contractual days. If you use them as part payment you would have to hand them in so wouldn't have them for entrance on non contractual days.

I agree they would take your 2 day tickets off you as there would be nothing to stop you giving them to someone else to use

As far as I know you can only use 1-day tickets to be reduced from AP prices, not multiple day tickets (even if they're bought and not part of a disney package).

You can us a multi day ticket and upgrade to an AP but they only reduce it by the amount of days not used - so if you have a 3 day ticket and exchange it on day 1 they will knock the price of 2 days off as you have already used 1 day.

So this option won't work for the OP as if they would not be able to use it on day 2 and 3 whenever they exchange it.

I finally figured out it is impossible to get the francillian pass without a blackout of at least a day by buying a park ticket. There is no possible way to do it with a 2 day. The blackout requires I mail the application and take the hit of not having 2 months of use.

Good news, our train tickets are booked, have the hotel at budget ibis and already have a stack of RER tickets. I printed the coupons for the EOS and Planet. Breakie at the hotel, sammies and snacks in our packs, dinner at the mall. I think we are planning well so far.
