AP questions

I am a new AP holder and had a few questions. I just ordered my AP and the voucher card came in the mail yesterday. My questions are:

1. I booked my room with the AP rate and they say you need to present your AP when you check in to the hotel. I got the voucher in the mail and need to go to MK, Epcot, DHS, or AK to trade my voucher in. Will the POLY accept my voucher as proof or will I need to go trade it in first?

2. Are there any blackout dates where you cannot use your AP for the parks?

3. Does the AP offer any discounts for purchasing regular MYW tickets?

THey might and probably will but we just always go to the closest park and pick up our AP if we don't have it yet.

2. Are there any blackout dates where you cannot use your AP for the parks?

for a regular AP no, the FL residents have different types of passes.

3. Does the AP offer any discounts for purchasing regular MYW tickets?

No. Last year AP holders were sent passalong cards that gave a 10% off a new AP but nothing for MYW tickets.

I am arriving at Orlando International airport and then taking the magical express to the POLY. So I will need to run to the MK to pick up my AP with my AP voucher before I can check in to my room since I booked using the AP rates?

I would just try to check in. They have never asked for my AP at check in. I am sure the voucher would be acceptable.

To be 100% sure yes, some say that they have checked in with vouchers and had no problem. When you get to the Poly if no lines just go up to the desk and find out for sure. If a long line, I wouldn't risk waiting and then have a CM that requires the actual AP although I really think it will be fine just 100% sure! I just always have mine for sure we drive so it's a little easier - just stop by a park close to where we're staying.

Sounds like a plan. I will just try. Worst case scenario I'll have to hop on the monorail to the MK. Oh no!

I was in the same position. When I booked, I asked these questions. I was told that if they asked, I would be able to explain, present the AP voucher, and they would make a note that I have to come back and show the AP itself at some time during the trip.

I was at the GF and was never asked.

In earlier years, I was always asked for the AP. On a few of the more recent with AP discounts they didn't but we did have them. When we got the APs it was tied to the same phone number as our room reservation. They did ask for that. When we got the APs they did say so you are staying at ASMu? So I think if you really have it already they are linked and when you checkin they know. Just a thought since every thing is linked by phone numbers at least.

We stayed at CSR 4 yrs ago on AP rate. I was told once I got the actual AP, I should come back to the front desk so that they could confirm my rate. We went to parks and when I returned, I simply went to the front desk with the AP then and they made a note of it. I think they told me if I didn't come in a certain time frame(possibly before my checkout??), my reservation would go back to the regular rack rates.
