Hi,

We have our hotel reservations already booked, and I am waiting to see if there will be AP discounts during our stay before I purchase an AP. If a discount rate does come out, do I need to have the AP in hand when I call and ask for the rate to be applied (do I have to give an AP confirmation number or anything)?

Also, I understand when I receive my AP in the mail, it is actually a voucher and not the real AP. Do I need the real AP at check-in or will the voucher do? Where do I turn in my voucher for the actual AP?

And one last question, how and where do I get the Disney Dining Experience card?

Thanks so much for your help ~ obviously I'm a newbie at this!

DEpending on the CM you may the AP ( or Voucher) in hand to book the AP rate.

Again depending on the CM you may have to show the AP during your first few days. The voucher will be good enough to get you in your room at that rate but they may request the AP to be show later.

You can turn your voucher in at any of the main ticketing booths and guest relations at DTD.

The DDE card can only be odered over the Phone during regular business hours , M-F 8 - 5 (or close to that ) Then a temp card can be picked up at the front Guest relations at Epcot after 5:30 that day or during park hours anytime after

When you get your AP voucher, you can go to Disneyworld.com/passholders find more info on the Disney Dining Experience Card. On that site you will enter the info from your AP voucher, and you will the in the passholders site. Their is info on the Disney Dining Experience Card, and you can download an application to send in for it. Or you can also fax it to them. The cost is $65.00 and you get 20% off most table service restruants. Plus 20% off most food courts.

You are so correct As I did fax mine in as well. I was posting on another thread about someone that was going to be on-sight upgrading to the AP and just stated the same thing here .

Thanks for the correction.

OP also remember that the DDE expires on the month (or next month depending on date ordered) that it's ordered not 1st use like the AP (or voucher conversion)

Thanks everyone for your help!

I'mNoPrince - I didn't even think about the DDE expiration! Thanks so much for mentioning it!

You do not need an AP when booking reservations in order to get an AP discount.
They don't ask for a number, nor for a voucher number. You can even tell them you are purchasing it before you check in to the resort.
You do need one to check in, and some CMs do accept the voucher. I'm sure you'd need to show an AP somewhere within your stay when you've turned in your voucher.

You can turn in your voucher at any PARK guest relations for your park tickets. The most convenient to us has been MGM. I have told the parking lot CMs I'm just going to get our APs before checking into the resort, and they've let me all the way up front so I can run in quick to get them.
