AP question

So I have a question and i'm not getting the question answered through my TA so I thought I'd ask here to see if it's doable : )

Hubby, myself and my toddler are going to disney and we are going for 7 days. Hubby and I want to go to Disney After Hours and we are also getting the Memory Maker. Would we be able to switch ONE of our park hopper passes to an AP and get the free MM and the Discounted tickets for Disney after hours..... or would we have to switch all of our passes since we are in a package wiht room, dining, tickets. My TA has quoted me the new rate with switching all of our passes to AP but we aren't planning on returning within 12months so it won't be worth it to do it that way.. but May if we do one pass. I Hope I made sense. Not sure if I'm in the right section: ) TIA!

1. Yes.
2. You would do the upgrade AFTER you arrive, when having the same package tickets doesn't matter anymore.
Your other choice is to book the resort "room-only" and drop the package tickets, entirely.
Just buy whatever kind of tickets you want in advance.
Unless you are getting "Free Dining" or some such package that requires minimum tickets,
(or the TA is selling you some kind of "TA special") you are not saving any money by buying a "tickets and room" package.

Thank you so much!! I'm talking to hubby now and we are thinking of going to option 2. Not sure if we should buy the DAF tickets now and see if we can get a credit adjustment or see about buying them when we get there (I don't want them to be sold out) ... decisions decisions Thank again!!!!

I’ll give you my unsolicited advice on DAH (sorry!). Since you are looking at one of the March DAH’s.... my opinion is that IF we see any sell-outs, it could likely/possibly be the March dates that do, or come close (and also maybe the 2/15 date since it’s Mardi Gras week and the Thursday before Pres day weekend). By March, you’re starting to get into the beginning of Spring Break season and growing crowds.

The reports last year were ‘generally’ that the later Feb/March dates were more crowded than the Jan/early Feb dates.

No one really knows the max ticket count or what things will be like in year two of this version of DAH, but if this were me I’d be inclined to go ahead and secure a spot IF it is very important to you.

Disney did start selling DAH tickets several months before last year’s dates, for whatever that is worth.

Obviously a lot of the above is speculation on my part, but hope it helps!

thank you for your input... we are thinking of going to the March 8th one(it's hubbys birthday).... my in laws are coming and are going to watch our 3 year old that night too : )

We will be in WDW in January. I will be upgrading my park ticket to an annual pass at that time. I noticed that there was a discount on the DAH if you had an annual pass. I called Disney and explained this to them. They allowed me to purchase the DAH ticket at the discounted price. I just have to show I have the annual pass when I pick up the tickets.

BTW Just did my last payment to my trip! : ) March 3-10th will be here before I know it : )
