AP question

I don't know if this is the place to post this question, so I apologize if not, but ... I know you can purchase an AP and then not activate it until you go. My question is ... how long do you have to activate it? Can I buy it now for a trip I have planned next year? Thanks!

I've read posts where folks say they've bought theirs as much as a year early to guard against price increases!

your AP will not be activated until you go to the park to activate it.

It also depends on whether you get an AP voucher or the actual pass. If you receive the actual pass, it could already be activated.
If you receive the voucher, you take the voucher to Guest Relations and exchange it for an AP.
