AP question??

This may be a stupid question. We just got back from Disneyland and it was a wonderful trip. My husband got so caught up in the magic (it was his, and our dd2's, first ever Disney trip). Anyhow, we decided we're going to go back in January or February, and we plan on getting AP's . Ok so here's the question. If I get my AP's ahead of time online, does my year start from the time I buy my AP's or does it start when I go to Disneyland and get processed and all that jazz?

It starts from the time you have it processed at the resort.

Some people buy a hopper pass first so that they get EE and then upgrade it for AP's.
