AP question/ possible issue

I think I might have a problem here. I asked my husband if I could get an annual pass since I will be in the Orlando area for two conferences plus our vacation in later in the year. Well he called an bought one for me. Yay! Problem is the CM told him to get the gold AP. Isn't that the Florida resident/DVC pass? We live in TN and are not DVC. Is this an issue? I go the end of this month and would hate to get there and not be allowed in cause I don't live in Florida.

You sure it wasn't the platinum pass? I don't think you can get the Florida pass without a Florida address. Go to your MDE account, it should already be linked there and it will say what kind it is.

MDE says Disney gold pass but I was thinking you had to have a Florida address too. Which is why I was surprised to see the gold pass.

You have to stop by guest services to get your discount card when you get there any way so just tell them the problem and they can fix it, they will have to upgrade you to a platinum pass.

Thank you. That's what I was figuring. Guess I'll have to shell out the other $200 when I get there. The lower price was nice the whole 2 hours it lasted.

Gold AP's have to be activated at guest services before you can use them. Just stop by when you get to Disney and straighten things out!

OP when you go to Disney on your first day you will have to stop by GR to activate you card, when you do this let the CMknow you are not a FL resident nor are you an DVC member and that you need to change your pass to the right one you then will have to pay the difference for it but it they should be able to do this.

option 2 call Disney and let them know they should be able to do this over the phone, I am not sure if you will have to stop by GR since you do not have a specie pass that need any type of prof ( but I could be wrong)

All new APs must be activated in-person at a WDW ticket booth or Guest Relations.
And, all over 18 year-old AP owners must show a legal photo ID when activating the AP.

Makes one wonder how the CM even sold a Gold AP to a non DVC, non FL resident
Not saying surprised the CM got it wrong but wow, how hard is it to train them to know what type of pass for someone not in FL and not DVC. Since I have to figure you have to give either a FL address or a DVC member number to purchase

I think the CM was confusing DVA with DVC. My husband paid for the pass with the DVA account.
