Can you purchase an AP and have it emailed to you? How does that work.

Ummmmm no. Theyll either mail you the voucher that you have to exchange for the actual pass or you can do it all at will call when you get to the parks

Long as you show the pass when you get there you willbe fine
purchase it when you get there that way it wont start until the day
of purchase. you do it through the mail by doing it through WDW
it starts right away. wait then you may get to use it for two trips.
just tell them you buy your AP when you arrive IT WORKS

Are you saying that I could call and, hopefully, get a room with the AP discount without having an AP and then buy it when I get down there right at the resort and still have the AP discount on the room?

I just purchased an AP from Disney and DOES NOT start until the first visit to the park...

Yes, you can make a reservation without the actual pass. We did this for our May reservation. I booked the room with the AP discount and when we arrived, before checking in, we went to EPCOT and got the AP. No problem.
