We plan to buy AP's for our trip in January. Will the DVC discount be the same if I call MS now and get a voucher or just wait and buy the passes at a ticket window at the gate?

Last time that I had an AP it was 1984. Back then they took an actual photo of you, cut out the little circle (yes, my 80's mall hair all fit in the little photo) and laminated it onto the card. I still have it to this day. Do AP's still have a photo on them or is it just another plastic card?

The price will be the same. The last price increase was in August.

They use the same paper as the regular park tickets. It will have the passholders name on the back but no photo.

Ugh, I have to try not to destroy a tiny piece of paper for an entire year?!?!!? That won't be good!

They are very durable and Disney will replace lost or unreadable APs for free.

Do you mean the AP or the hair? :lmao:

They are pretty much indistructable. They are made from the same material as the stuff they wrap your house in during construction!

I got my AP during my Oct. trip this year. Now, I'm a big procrastinator :sad2: So, I jumped all over the laundry the next day after we got back. :laundy:

Sure enough, the card got washed:dance3: ....along with my DVC membership and the Tables in Wonderland. :guilty: It was one big wad of glued paper.

After a week or so sulking

I called my castmember friends and they replaced my cards with the standard indestructable plastic cards. :thumbsup2 :woohoo: Thanks for saving me Disney.

To help make it easy for those cases where you decide that your MYW, AP and TiW cards are a little dirty and run them through the wash, photocopy the backs of them, and keep the copy. It makes it a little easier for them to replace them.

They use Tyvek, which is paper-like but very durable. If you're wondering where you've heard the name before, it's the stuff they wrap the outside walls of your house with before putting on the siding/shingles/whatever. So it's got to be fairly durable...

Making a copy is a great suggestion! I will be sure to do that.

So if I call MS tomorrow, they will mail me a voucher for an AP? And I take that to the ticket booth and trade that for the AP? Since the prices probably won't go up between now and 40ish days, I'll probably just wait and buy right at the park.

Good idea!!!!.................. :thumbsup2

But as I am mad about cleanliness................ I maybe would wash the copy too  :scared: :rolleyes1 LOL!!!

I believe you can have them mail you a voucher for a fee, which is like $3 or something. That's a good option if you are holding them for future use.

You can opt for "will call", where you pay for them in advance, but you pick them up at guest relations.

There isn't much difference, except in the first instance you at least have something. Also, if you want access to the passholder web site, you need the codes off the back of the voucher. I'm not sure you can get that with a will call order.

Buying them at the park or DTD is also an option - you just have to bring payment.

When I purchased my AP and Table's cards I asked if they had a photocopy machine to make a copy for me. The CM informed me that is not needed any more as all the cards are connected to your credit card and name. (Big brother is watching:eek: )

Sure 'nuff. :goodvibes I had no way of getting those tiny numbers out of the Tide cleaned paper wad. No problem. :wizard: Just punched in my name and new cards on the way.

One less thing for us to worry about on vacation. The less stress the better.
