I paid $559.99 + tax for the Premier, and now it's $624.99 + tax. It's still cheaper than a Disney AP, but it's $65 more for 3 fewer months than it was yesterday.

I bought mine a couple days ago so I wouldn't forget before the bonus 3 months ended. Phew!

This thread scared me so much that I immediately called to renew my WDW annual pass, under the assumption that one soon follows the other.

Glad I got mine two days ago! Out of curiosity, I popped onto the website today to see if there was a new promotion, and was disappointed to find not just the extra 3 months gone, but also those price increases. Basically, it looks like all the pass prices increased to the next level. The seasonal pass now costs what the power pass did yesterday, etc. Since discounts on food and merchandise start with the Preferred, I was looking at the difference between Seasonal and Preferred - it was a $90 difference yesterday, but it's $100 now - so even less chance I'll spend enough money to break even on the discounts.

If I upgrade from seasonal to preferred will they just charge me the difference in the current price ($100 + tax), or the difference from what I paid for the seasonal pass ($145+tax). I realize we'll lose the extra 3 months when we upgrade. We arrive next Saturday and that is a blackout date, so we'll have to upgrade to go to the parks that day and to get the AP rate for the room that evening. We bought the tickets for a trip the end of May and for various reasons had to move the trip up to next weekend. So now we need preferred pass, due to the black-out date.

You can give the AP at any day during your stay and I’m sure they’ll except it for a room rate on a blockout day, so I would t upgrade just for that. You’ll have to decide if parks that day is worth it, though.

I believe the blockout date is actually for getting into the park, not the hotel. I wish I had an answer for you, could you please share as I may be in the same position this summer.

You don't think Universal will be increasing the cost of food and merchandise? A $100 increase in the cost of all your discount able expenditures is enough to offset the $10

Also curious about this... we bought a seasonal pass with the bonus three months, started using it in October 2020. Wondering how much it would cost to upgrade, and if we would lose those three months. (We were considering going in July, which is blacked out for seasonal.)

That depends on your spending practices. Since the discount is 10%, I’d need to spend $1000 to break even. We eat breakfast in the room, and bring food for at least one other meal. We have our wands already, and don’t really buy souvenirs. I have a 5 day trip planned, and got the APs for the hotel discount and because 5 days of tickets were almost the same price as a seasonal AP was. No idea when or even if we’ll make it back. We will not spend close $1000 on food and merchandise on this trip, and there’s a pretty good chance we won’t hit that cumulatively. I’d rather have the money in my account than gamble on if I’m coming back or feel psychological pressure to buy things I normally wouldn’t just to reach the break even point.
