I know the AP pass is good for one year from the day you start BUT is it good for all the water parks also? Or just the four major theme parks? and what is the "renewal benefit" that they have changed?

A Premium Annual Pass is good for the four parks + the water parks. It is more expensive than the regular Annual Pass that just includes the 4 parks.

When you purchase AP's through the mail, you receive a voucher that you turn in at Guest Relations for your real pass. Your expiration date is one year after the first day you use the pass, not when you purchase it.

To renew your pass, you used to do it similarly to above, and your new expiration date would be one year from when you first use your renewed pass. Last year Disney changed their policy to your renewal expiration date being a year after your original expiration date.

In other words, you cannot renew passes in March at a reduced rate and hang on to them until your next trip unless you plan on being back within a year.

Thank you Tricia for that info. I never thought for some STUPID reason about the AP pass, I always thought in terms of 5 day park hopper etc. Now this gives me something else to ponder and plan
