AP pass...where to buy?

Going to buy my AP now in hopes that it will give us the best rate for our 8 day trip in January 2006. Dou I buy it direct from Disney and does it become activated when it is used to get a room discount? Thanks!

You can buy an AP voucher at your local Disney Store. From what I understand (and am banking on since I plan to take the same route) is your AP is not activated until you activate it at WDW, not when you book your room.
