AP or Shareholder early booking

When I phoned to add HB to my October trip yesterday, I asked about booking with AP or Shareholder discount for February, and was again given the 3 month before line.
If this is going to be the case from now on then it really takes away from the benefits of these two. There's no point in being able to book room only if by the time you can book it there aren't any rooms left. I can only go during school holidays, along with lots of other people, so I don't feel I can leave it to chance that there will be rooms. Can't see any way round it though except to pay for a package.
Did someone complain about this recently? Maybe we all need to complain!

You often hear AP holders for WDW bemoaning the lack of benefits. There is no equivalent of the Shareholders Club with having a Walt Disney Inc share.
Hopefully with the parks becoming busier, management do not see this as a easy target to increase revenue. Since we all know they make more selling packages :)

I'll be adding my voice to this change :headache:
 
OK have just complained to the Guest Communication email address. Here's what I said. Any constructive criticism, post here, might help someone else write a complaint about it!

Dear Sirs
Yesterday, when paying the balance for my October trip staying at the Disneyland Hotel, I enquired about making a booking for February. I am both a Dream Annual Pass holder and a shareholder, and was told I could only make a booking 3 months before.This is a ridiculous situation. As a shareholder and AP holder I should be given extra benefits, not have benefits taken away. February bookings have been available online for a while now, so why is there any difference in making a room only booking? AP holders make more trips per yr, spending money in restaurants and shops and guaranteed income in the form of the (very expensive) annual passes. We are just as profitable as non-AP holders or non-shareholders. Why are we therefore being treated as second class citizens?
This is certainly something I will be bringing up at the next shareholder's meeting and I would appreciate a satisfactory conclusion.

Cathy I've not yet got clear the form of words in my head but I think when writing a complaint it is better not to be critical but to look for empathy. I think writing how you are disappointed, what the impact will be eg that to ensure a holiday booking that choosing a non-Disney hotel now becomes a more attractive option or staying in Paris and now travelling in :goodvibes

BTW be careful about making empty threats. To get an opportunity to raise a question at an AGM requires often significant other shareholders to back the question.
IMHO none of the Disney fans who hold shares will be on the radar of Euro Disney SCA, we don't have that power nor importance :)

Yes I suspect you're right Reid. This is why I shouldn't write while I'm still cross! But that's OK, now you go ahead and write that kind of letter, and we'll both try to get a response.

I think all our letters might work. Written differently would I guess look better rather than one style, but signed by many.
 
I must admit, I do tend to use the "confused and disappointed Ap holder of Nottingham" etc tack when making a complaint.

and does it help? I confess I don't have much hope any of us will be able to make changes to this. I think they have discovered a glimmer of profit after all these years of none and they are going to maximise it however they can. Doesn't help me with booking next February or May though!
