AP & Mission Space

I got an AP thing in the mail yesterday marked "Confidential: Test Pilots Only." When I opened it up it was an invitation for annual/premium passholders indicating that I have been selected as a test pilot for Mission: Space. It shows the AP/PAP preview is for August 1-3. This is really pretty cool, but unfortunately I can't go.

Did anyone else get this?

I agree whole-heartedly that it's very cool. I can't go, either but I keep the mailing for my scrapbook. Afterall, it will be like a limited edition mailing.

I got one too, but alas, I miss the opening by a week. Guess I will just have to wait until the late part of my trip for the Soft Opening. It will be a nice addition to the scrapbook, though!

I guess it's not for seasonal passholders? I wonder if you can use someone else's or does it have them specified on the ticket?

It says "You and all Annual and Premium Annual Passholders will be requested to present your valid Passes to gain clearance at the Mission:Space entrance." Don't know how they will check but since our names are on the back of the pass, they may require the pass and photo id.

I would assume that since it is for AP/PAP passholders, that they would be checking your pass & id for this event.

Since it takes place August 1-3rd, wouldn't that be a black out period for seasonal passholders? So I'm thinking it wouldn't be for them since you need it for admission and they aren't valid at that time.

We got this too yesterday and I so wish we could use it!!!!!!!!

It does say they will be checking your AP/PAP upon entering Mission Space. You do not have to have the actual invitation card they sent you just your AP/PAP.

Hope some passholders tell us about their Mission Space experience when they get home!!!!

Do you need a special invitation for this or can all AP holders gain admission. We'll be there on those dates and are buying annual passes. Do you think we'll be able to get in?

Anyone with an AP will be able to participate. Thankfully the event is spread over three full days, so crowds should be managable (if they get the remaining centrifuges running by then).

Well, I guess Disney's marketing ploy worked on us, because my DW got her invitation in the mail yesterday, and we decided to make a trip that weekend within three hours of opening the invitation. We just couldn't wait till our December trip to go back.
This is the first Disney vacation we've ever planned with such short notice (it's already past the 120 day mark for our PS's--whatever are we going to do??? ).
I didn't see a time listed on the invitation. Does anyone know if Mission:Space will be open all day or if it is only a part-day event?
