are they easy to spot?
Do they change around location?

First time with Ap's in September -excited!!

Yes, they're easy to spot. I have seen them move around, but they're typically at one far end or the other.

You'll find it's hit or miss on the value of them. We've had them save our bacon from missing a FP+, but we've also seen it where the AP line was unnecessary, as all lines were short.

The AP line at MK and AK is over on the far right side, at Epcot it's at the far left side, and I cannot remember where it is at HS...we've never used it there for whatever reason.

Usually at the far right side.

They may move it around, but mid May at Epcot, it was far right at Rope Drop. It was the same place as those with early dining reservations. This was one time (of many) that it was definitely a faster line. We may have been about 50 people back, and we were through in no time. As we were going through, it was as if the regular lines had hardly moved.

To the OP, just look for the big AP sign. As you are walking towards it, survey the regular lines, to see if it makes sense or not to go to the AP line. One thing to keep in mind, conceptually, the AP line has people in it who understand how place their MB/AP and how to place their finger, so this line 'should' move faster than the other lines. But as others have stated, this is not always the case.

And how many non-AP can come thru with us?

If you have family that is non-AP, they can come through with you. We have 3 APs (me, DH and DD) and grandma and grandpa were able to come through with us.

What a great idea .... and too often it is pointless.

- Sometimes right, sometimes left. They move.
- Last trip April; MK was to the left, DHS was to the right, Epcot was in the middle.
- Some trips they told us our friend could not go through.
- Some trips they looked at us and said "you have to have an AP"
- Some trips whole families with NO AP went through.
- Some trips it is a short line.
- Some trips the regular line is shorter.
- Some trips the line is short but never fails there is a family with invalid tickets clogging it.

Just look for the big sign, then look to see how long the line is, then figure half those folks don't have AP or the best, they have APs but still don't know how to scan their finger.

They don't always allow others to come through with you. A few weeks ago, the crowds at Epcot were insane and a CM was walking the AP line asking to see your AP card. Those without a card, even if others in their party were AP's, were told to move to another line.

Other times, I've seen them let others come with them.

OP - they are easy to spot but not always the fastest line (esp if you have to pass every other line on the way).

At park opening it's usually AP only, which it should always be imo

After park opening when lines aren't as long, as long as one person in the party is an AP you can usually bring a guest or two with you

Generally, they have shorter lines, but not always.
As others have said, they are usually at one end or the other and have a big AP sign.
It is a nice perk for AP holders.
