AP Hotel Discounts

Good Morning,

We are beginning to plan a "Super Disney" trip for the summer of 2006 and were considering buying annual passes because we are planning on staying for about 10 days. What kind of hotel discounts can you get, if any, and how do you hear about them?

This will be our second anniversary and our youngest kids 13 birthday trip!!!!!

The AP discounts run a bit lower than the codes available to the general public. In the past, they've been as low as $49 for a value resort (which was 50% off rack rate when I got that rate in October), $74 for a moderate resort, and standard rooms at the AKL and WL for as low as $129. You can definitely save a good chunk of change with the AP. Also note that you only need one AP in your party to get that rate. Some folks will get an AP for one person, and MYW tickets for everyone else.

You also get discounts on things down at the world--like 10% off lunch at some restaurants, 10% at the World of Disney store, 50% off mini-golf, 15% off tours, and other things, too. Oh, and the new perk many folks are excited about is the ability to get a Disney Dining Experience card for just $50--that card gets you 20% breakfast, lunch, and dinner at a bunch of restaurants.

I guess AP rates aren t available for july yet. You don t need to purchase in advance to nake a reservation but you ll have to activate it before check in, i did it last year, i thought WDW didn t change the rules.
