AP hotel discounts (or other insider tips)?

I'm getting ready to buy our first Southern CA AP's, but can anyone tell me what kind of rates you're getting for good neighbor hotels like BW Park Inn, Ramada Main Gate or any others right beside them? (I want to be right across the street so we can easily walk in, but also have heard great things about HoJo and Candy Cane, so if you know about those, I want to hear.)

I've already booked rooms at both BW and Ramada for now, but any tips for getting the lowest rates (to make sure that's what I've got) will be greatly appreciated.

I just booked HoJo with the AP discount. It amounted to 20% off.
