I have an AP and booked a room already for Jan 06. I was really hesitant about buying the passes.
I did price the package deal with dining, in fact, I priced the Platinum package where you get it ALL!! And to tell you the truth, it would probably be the best deal. That way, you would know the cost up front. I priced it all seperately and the total wasn't even $100 different than if I had bought the Platinum deal. We will be there for 13 days, and when you figure the costs of all meals, park tickets for all those days, lodging at a deluxe resort, and other activities such as golfing, boating, the fireworks cruise, show tickets, backstage tours, etc.. you might as well get the Platinum package. The only drawback to this was the fact that you would be limited to the WDW restaurants for all meals, and we wanted to try some at Universal too!
I think the whole trip will cost us around $8000!!! That's using the passes and getting the Best Rates for Lodging and using the DDE card to get 20% off most meals.
I hope I have figured it realistically. Please let me know if you think I am way off target here! I have not been to WDW as an adult, so I just had to read up on the info provided on this website to get pricing ideas!
Here's what I have budgeted for 2 adults: 12 nights/13 days
Food, w/DDE 20% off $2700
Seaworld/Busch Garden tickets $200
Cirque tickets $175
Fireworks Cruise $120
Golf, 2 rounds each $500
Lodging, Wilderness Lodge CY View, $211/night BRP rate $2400
Annual Passes $1100
Car Rental $300
Airfare, used points $100
Other activities/Shopping $500
