I just got off the phone with MS and was a little surprised that as a Florida resident and a DVC member that I can not get a discount off of a seasonal pass only the annual. I was also suprised that it is cheaper for me to buy a regular annual pass -$100 then it is for me to buy a florida annual -$20... crazy. I do not think I should be punished and not recieve something.

How are you being punished? In both cases you would get a discount. Are you saying you should get the DVC discount off of the Florida discount? I can't imagine them discounting a discount. Plus there has never been any DVC discount on a Flordia seasonal pass. How is that punishment?

Just my opinion.

Let's see you get more days for less money and you are being punished? I want punishment like that LOL!

Acutally I think Disney feels that the Seasonal pass is discounted all they want to discount it. Sorry!

I understand that you are disappointed that DVC members who are Florida residents do not get a discount on the seasonal passes.

But you aren't going to get much sympathy here - the price of the discounted DVC "regular" pass is the same (or nearly the same) as the discounted Florida resident DVC pass. As already pointed out, that means you get more park days and pay less $$ than you have been getting/paying for with the seasonal pass.

Just because someone else gets a discount, doesn't mean you are being punished. I can't believe that you would begrudge us non-Florida residents a discounted pass.

Best wishes -

I am not upset I just think I should be able to have it all. Face it we all do. I know I am saving money either way I just wish I could save more so I can spend more...

Now you know how the other DVC Members felt when they were not offered discounts but were in fact paying Florida real-estate taxes.

I have thought about purchasing an AP pass, but the rate we can buy Florida Seasonal passes is just to good. I'm sure many DVC Members would be very happy to purchase a Seasonal Pass.

I think that is what I am going to do is purchase the florida resident seasonal pass. We have a 2 year old and 4 month old and do not need more than that right now. I did not mean to offend anyone.

You didn't offend me at all and I disagreed with you. I give you credit for stating your opinion. But of course when you do that, you have to "listen" to people like me who disagree.

If the season pass will work for you, it's likely your best option. The AP is actually still a little cheaper with the $20 off for DVC that the non discounted FL resident rate. If your not seeing this you're likely comparing one price with tax and the other without. But the price difference isn't that much, maybe $5-10 less with DVC for the FL resident AP. I think the only difference between them for other perks is that the AP gets free parking and the season does not. But you get the DDE discount, dining and room discounts with the seasonal from what I understand. There's also the 3 day with 2 plus options special ticket for FL residents which will work better for some trips but not for others.
