I have an AP that's good thru August 17 and will be at CBR (moderate room) August 9-16 (buy 4 get 3 free) and under a separate reservation with FD August 16-21. I would prefer to get a really good rate for my separate reservation August 16-21 so I'm waiting to see what the GP/AP codes are. My question is this...since my AP is only good until August 17, can I check in with it on August 16 and get the AP code for the entire 5 days? :confused3

Yes, unless they have changed policy. I have done this (although I have also always renewed during trip). I have not been asked at any time other than check in to show an AP to verify the discount, and only 10% of the time have I been asked at all.

I hope to book a room at an AP rate for mid June on an AP that technically expires a few days before check in. But my plan was to renew the AP at the parks before check-in since I will be using it for a DVC stay. I hope this works. I really didn't want to renew until I got there.

I went through all the trouble of going to a park to buy my AP before check-in, then they didn't even ask for it.

I'm pretty sure they don't ever check if you have one other than asking for it at check-in. It would be a ton of work and ridiculous if they looked up your AP information during your stay just to make sure it's still valid.

To be honest, I think everything is linked with a phone number. We did the same and when we purchased the AP they asked for the phone number as well as when we checked in so I really think they already know by asking. Just my thoughts. Back in the day, the hotel always asked for tha AP so maybe now things are computerized and they do know and therefore, don't need to ask. On the AP valid for the entire stay, I don't think that that matters as long as the AP is valid upon checkin.

I have never been asked to see my AP. That being said, I did check in at pop with an AP that expired the day I arrived. . .I was able to book my ressie and check in regardless. . .That was this May 14. No issues.
