We have PAPs, 2 adults and 2 children.

We are taking my mother (room #2) and my ILs (room #3).

We are splitting our stay between 2 resorts.

Therefore we will need 6 rooms.

My question is this, how do I reserve a room for my ILs without adding the 3rd adult to their reservation and it costing us $25 extra for each night?

Does the AP holder's name have to be on the reservation or do they just have to be present when checking in the resort? I could put one of my children on each of the grandparents' room reservations. I just didn't want it to be complicated using our children's APs.

I have done that, so here is what you need to do, a passholder must be listed as staying in the room, so it can be a child. When you make the reservations, list one of the children as staying in one of the other rooms. That way should they ask at check in for a pass(we have never had to show one of ours, by the way), you will have the one for the child. That way you get the AP discount for all rooms. Hope that helps, and have a great time!

Are you sure that an AP holder has to be listed as staying in the room? When I went in Dec. 01 my DH and I had AP's and we got AP rates for both the GF and AK. We reserved two rooms at each hotel, one for us and one for my parents, and all rooms had the AP rate. Neither myself nor my DH were listed as being in the rooms with my parents. I thought that as an AP holder you can book up to three rooms at the AP rate and the only catch is that the AP holder MUST be present at check-in. This is my understanding. We have AP's again and are planning on booking three rooms in July of 05 with an AP rate (hopefully - if they're out). I was never told that an AP holder must be listed as being in the room.

A passholder can book 3 rooms per reservation. We went or Thanksgiviing and I booked a room for myself, my brother's family and my other brother's family. There were no passholders in those rooms. BUT...... it is all one reservation and we ran into trouble with the charging back to the room, it all went to me. Any way 1 pass=up to 3 rooms.

So, I can book 3 rooms at the 1st resort on one reservation. My husband can book 3 rooms the 2nd resort on another reservation.

I've read that charging back to the room can be complicated when reserving rooms for others.

Thanks for the info.

Are you splitting your stay between two resorts? If so, you can make the reservation yourself at both. When we went in Dec. 01, we stayed 2 nights at AKL then 6 nights at GF. I booked 2 rooms at each resort, all under my name. It was not a problem. Just make sure that if you're charging back to the room with your room key that the cast member assigns the right credit card to the right room.

But you can do all the ressies yourself if your splitting your stay.
