My 14 year old 8th grader is taking his first AP Exam today. Anyone else have students participating?

Sending good thoughts to all of the kids!!!

Good luck! I remember taking those tests, they were no fun. It is a huge perk not having to take those courses in college though. :)

Ahhhhh brings back memories.
Hot spring afternoon took two AP exams back to back. What was I thinking :hyper:

Then I still had to wait another 2 years to get into HS where Freshman year I was allowed to take the SAT"S

And here I am today

Holy Cow!! Who wouldn't let you take the SAT's when you were younger? DS took them as a 7th grader! I always thought whoever could pay the money could take the test. I think it would benefit a lot of kids to take these tests (and courses) earlier. By the time the scores "matter" the test is much easier due to familiarity with the whole process.

I just finished AP World History last Wednesday. I'm taking four more next year. These tests induce too much stress!

We move around a lot

My goodness! AP exams in the 8th grade is quite impressive. Congratulations and good luck to your son and others taking the tests. :)

I am done with AP tests FOREVER!!

lol, I'm just a little bit happy about that.:teeth: I had 4 this year. Calculus, English Literature, Chemistry and Government. Government was my last one, and it was yesterday. At my school, the AP classes are all very hard...Calc and Chem have reputations for being the hardest classes in the school. So everyone, including the counselors, thought I was crazy for taking 4 in one year, especially since I'm a junior, but I survived, and now I never have to take another AP test ever!

My dd is taking AP, IB and state exams these next few weeks.WILL THE MADNESS NEVER END??????

Congrats on being so ambitious!! Many people thought DS was crazy as well! He is taking his courses online because they are not offered at our local HS.

I like that saying!

That's really awesome that your son is taking AP classes in 8th grade. Is he going to take college classes when he gets to high school? I hope he did well today!

Good luck to your 8th grader.
I have to say AP classes and exams is an experience I don't plan to ever repeat. I had 3 AP classes this year, as a junior (wait...still have them...school isn't out for over a month.) All I can say is if I never have to see another standardized test answer grid in my life I will be the happiest person around. These tests were way too stressful, and I hate how I had 3 3 days in a row. I will definitely be glad if I got high enough scores for college credit, but I doubt that I will.

Yes - he will have high school credits to graduate midway through his sophomore year, but will probably stay around to participate in athletics until his senior year. His future plans involve college athletics..... but who knows if that will pan out or not.

We live in a small, non-challenging district, so we are relying heavily on distance learning and online classes.

He said the test (microeconomics) was hard... I can't believe he has to wait until July to find out how he did! He is already enrolled in AP Statistics for next year.

I hope you and all of the others who just completed AP exams did well!!!

I know that the HS I went to had them this week and last week.

I only took 2 AP exams all through high school. Not very fun...

You might as well get used to those...... college is in your future, I assume, and you will see many more of those answer grids! :)

Speaking from experience, those AP exams prepare you for college. More than likely, your effort will pay off!!!!

My middle DS took his AP Stats test last week. He thinks he did pretty good on it. Sure hope so.:D

Good luck to your son!
