AP, DVC and TIW

I plan to buy an AP for the October trip. Can I also purchase a TIW card with only an AP voucher or should I just get the DVC discount? Can I wait until I get to WDW in October to activate the AP and then get the slightly cheaper TIW? Am I missing something?

You need an active AP to get the TiW card for $75.

The TIW card becomes active when they mail it. I would wait and get the TIW card at WDW after you activate the AP.

I agree - buy the TiW on site after you activate your AP. Then the card will be good for the same time period as your AP.
