ok, so we were thinking recently about quick trip to DLP at the beginning of May (1-4)...

I know it will be busy but we got some time off and if we sell our old car we will have extra monies for it so why not :rotfl:... so when looking at prices only Davy Crockett Ranch is ok unless there will be a flash sale but I doubt as there are too many holidays in May in France...
anyway even if we wont go this time we will probably drive/staff off site at some point from next year when our son starts school so I was doing some reading but still some question and hope you can help:goodvibes

- I believe parking is free in park with AP but what about the first day as I would buy it there, would I have to pay for my first day or would I be able to show my pass at the end of day? how to pay for parking?

-where would you recommend to stay offsite that got free parking?

- any recommendation to sleep in Calais or on the way there from parks?

there will be probably more questions but these one are my main one at the moment...

The 1st day you would have to pay for parking at the booth as you enter the park. Free parking only starts once you have the full AP with you (so tickets that you swap for AP's will not allow you free parking.)

We stay off site and drive on our trips now. We like to stay at the Residhome Val d'Europe as it has a kitchen and one stop down on the metro line. We do not drive in when we stay there. There is free parking on the street there, or you can pay a small amount to park in the car park under the hotel. We just find this so much more convenient being 2 minutes away on the metro (if you time the train right you are back in your room quicker than if you had to walk through the village to one of the Disney hotels!)

We have also stayed a few times at the Best Western Golf hotel. It is about a 10 minutes drive away and has free parking. The rooms are around £55/£60 a night. The hotel is fine for the price, clean rooms, free parking, plenty of room, tea/coffee in the room etc.

Whilst the Best Western is a good hotel in itself, we prefer to stay at the Residhome as it is so much more convenient.

thanks Danauk...

is it hard to find free space for paring on the street? we also would like to park the car and use metro

Free parking was quite hard to find, but then we didn't really look that hard as we didn't want to be too far away with the luggage. We paid for the underground parking, it didn't cost that much, just a few euros a day.

We parked in the Disney Village car park on the day we bought our APs. It's cheaper than the DLP car park and a bit closer to the parks.

I can recommend the Campanile in Bussy St Georges (but then again we drove in every day, it took 10-15 minutes). The parking is free and secure and there was no problem finding a space. If I was going to take the RER each day I'd probably opt for Val d'Europe though.

There are some great deals on Travelrepublic for your dates at many of the offsite hotels. Very tempting :-D

Sorry I can't help with hotels near Calais.

Hope this helps.

We have also used the Disney Village car park on the first day because it's cheaper.

We've used a few off-site hotels and our favourite, the Crecy Golf Hotel is a 20-25 minute drive away but in a lovely setting and with huge apartments. We've stayed in the Adagio Access at Magny Le Hongre, which is made up of small 'houses' and includes an oven and washing machine in the apartment but again this is a drive away (5-10 minutes).

Sorry, can't help with Calais.

thanks guys its really helpfull:hug:

just a quick Q re eurotunel is ~£100 return for 5 night a good price? I did couple of other days to compare and I think its the best if you are coming back after 3 days...

Remember you can use Tesco Clubcard vouchers for Eurotunnel too. We are doing a super-budget trip again so used our vouchers to cover the entire cost :goodvibes
