Ok, so this has probably been covered, but I wasn't paying attention so...

I'm probably going to upgrade to APs for me and DD when we go in Dec because I am going to try to go again Oct 09 with some friends. I'm thinking since we'll have APs, I might squeeze one short weekend in for just me and her and I'd like to stay onsite, preferably DLH.

I've look on Disnleyland.com for AP rates fo this year to get an idea but it looks like you have to be a current AP holder to access that info  . So can anyone tell me how much the DLH is for two nights w/ AP discount? Thanks!:flower3:

I believe it is usually $20 - $40 less a night off the rack rates. someone correct me if I am wrong.
lori

I think it's usually more than that. Isn't rack rate around $260? I have a room booked next week for $179. Don't forget teh $11 per day resort fee though!

I think it really depends on which time of year it is too. In summer they gernerally don't offer them. Fall rates usually aren't released till August or so, I've heard. But all is subject to change - I'm sure supply and demand has plenty to do with it!

There's the normal AP percentage, and there are specials like the AP5 or AP6 (whichever one it is right now) that gives much better deals. Alas, we won't know until fall, probably, if there will be anything super-great around xmas time, but since the hotels will be filled up anyway, I'm not sure they'll give anything spectacular. :confused3

Then again, I'm not all that knowledgeable about the DLR hotels, as I don't find them to be a good value. :goodvibes

Bumbershoot: Last year, the special AP rate ended on Dec 15th so if you could squeeze your vaca earlier...

To the OP, as Bumbershoot said, always ask for the special AP5 or AP6 rate; its way better than asking for "an AP rate" which is just a little discount.

what is ap5 or ap6?
i have the socal ap but will be upgrading to a pap by oct.:confused3

It's AP6 right now. I called DLR the other day to see what the AP rates were for December of this year, and the CM told me that the AP6 rates end in May? Or June? I can't remember, but that they haven't come out with the next set of rates yet..

AP6 rates end May 31.

To the OP, I'm not sure about the DLH but to give you some sort of idea - last year, early December weekend the GCH was $279 for concierge.

Bumbershoot, I agree that DLR hotels are not a good value. That's why I've only stayed at DLH once, when I was a little kid :) . But I think it would be ok to spend the extra money on a short trip for just me and DD if I could get the AP5 or AP6 rate, factoring in that I would not be paying for park tickets too. I really want to go to sleep surrounded by glowing tink dust! :lmao:

Don't go by the website AP rates. ALWAYS call the hotel directly and you will get the best rate available!

Jenn,
Last year, during the AP4 promotion which ran from Aug 22ish til Dec 15th (excluding holidays) the rates I paid when I stayed onsite were:
$169++ for DTD view at the DLH
$229++ for DTD view at the GCH (the standard rate was $199++)
and some ridiculous low rate to stay concierge at the PP. I forgot the number but it was less than $200++.

The summer is the big season so I wouldn't expect discounts during this time unless they need to sell some rooms quick.

I assume they will offer some new code for next fall (like AP7 or AP8). Particularly if the economy continues on the course its on now.

Thanks so much! That helps a lot. I like to aviod summer anyway... I'm no fan of hot hot hot weather! :)

PPH view concierge was $189, $169 for standard view concierge. We stayed view concierge on 2 separate 3-night trips and it was well worth it.
