AP discounts

Would someone be so kind to check the annual pass discount for me. Ours won't be activated until we go next week. I am looking for Paradise pier standard view club level for the nights of nov 22, 23 and 24. I just booked a discounted room and am wondering if it would be better to use our annual pass. Thank you!!

Just went and checked at PPH

PPH Club level standard Passholders Save 10% on Disneyland Resort Hotels $411.00 USD Avg/Night Excl Tax

PPH Premium view is Annual Passholder Fall Package $342.33 USD Avg/Night Excl Tax

PPH Standard is Late Fall Room Offer $330.00 USD Avg/Night Excl Tax

Currently there is the standard 10%, Fall Room offer and the Fall Package out.

Ah well. Thanks so much for checking!

FlameGirl, I called today to see about the Fall AP package and whether or not more rooms would be added since they have very little starting out. The CM did not commit to it, but did say it was very possible so keep checking! They haven't even officially announced the fall package yet as far as I know. It just started yesterday and as of this morning, was still not showing up on the Disney website until you went through the process of checking a reservation.

The only page that shows that there is some sort of offer as well is the Offers and Discounts page but not the Passholder offers page which I found odd as well. https://disneyland.disney.go.com/offers-discounts/room-stay-passholder/

Thanks for the heads up - I will definitely keep checking. I will update here if I find a better rate, as well. :)

There will be more rooms added in to the AP Fall Package discount. I've seen it happen with other AP discounts on multiple occasions (even after CMs said nothing was available). I usually benefit from it, as I don't book my rooms in the first wave of available discounts. I usually book during the second or third wave of rooms that become available, and those rooms sometimes don't pop up until October or even November.

Last week I received a Disney Visa 20% hotel discount offer, and immediately after I received it the CM at DLR said that all the rooms were booked. The offer had just come out, and I knew that there was no way that all of the rooms were booked, but if they are holding back rooms for some reason their reservations system will see that as rooms being booked, even if they aren't really booked.

I just discovered something about the Disneyland website that I never knew. Or, more likely, the Disneyland website now behaves differently than it used to. Slightly complicated situation, but I'll try to explain what I discovered.

When I log into the Disneyland website as a pass holder and go to the "Pass holder hotel availability calendar", I get the following prices for a PP Club non-view room:

Nov 22 - $457 - "great fall rates"
Nov 23 - $367 - "annual passholder fall package"
Nov 24 - $343 - "annual passholder fall package"

I then went to the Disneyland website main menu, repeated the search, got the exact same price, and concluded that no passholder discount was available.

However, I then realized that this made no sense, since what I thought was my "non passholder" search was flagged as being a passholder rate. So, I logged out of the website, returned to the main menu, and redid the search. This time I got the following result:

Nov 22 - $457 - "great fall rates"
Nov 23 - $457 - "great fall rates"
Nov 24 - $457 - "great fall rates"

So the Nov 23 and Nov 24 rates do seem to be much better for passholders.

Apparently, when I thought I was doing a non-passholder search, the computer system detected that I was logged in as a passholder, and automatically gave me the best available rate. I don't think the website behaved like this during my past searches (several months ago), so this seems to be a new enhancement.

Interesting to know. I got a rate of $366 per night for all three nights. I am intrigued by the $343 rate. I thought it was a little strange that Saturday night cost the same as the other two but thought the price was decent. I was booking with a pin and had a similar experience to you. They pulled up both a "fall magic" and a "late fall" offer as well as a standard rate depending the hotel I checked and availability.

I assume a pin is one of those person-specific codes that Disneyland periodically sends out via email? I've received them a couple of times in the past, but have never used one.

$366 per night is probably as good a rate as you're going to get. My amounts average out to $389 per night, so not as good. Interestingly, if I redo the search as a three day stay instead of three, one day stays, I get a rate of "$411 per night, 10% off passholder offer". So, by booking three one day stays instead of one stay a person would save $22 per night.

Definitely confusing...

Yes a pin is exclusive to the person they sent it to. Often I've found pass holders get better deals than the pins. Interestingly I just called to ask and she said there was absolutely nothing available for club level for those dates for the fall Ap promo. The one night would be cheaper but sounds like the rates are better overall anyway. Thanks to all who checked. :)

I merged 2 threads together, as they were both discussing the AP Fall Package discount and checking rates/dates and such. We don't need to have multiple threads about the discount.:goodvibes

Just upgraded to an Annual Pass on my last visit. Super excited to find out that I only had to pay the difference - it was a no brainer! Now, I am confused as to what I do with it. Is there a special website? I have a room booked for Jan 2 - 5th and am waiting to see if those dates get discounted - will I just get an email? Any tips to help navigate my new benefits are appreciated :) thanks

You have to check it yourself; watch this board, too, because someone usually posts when a good ap rate comes out. To check it yourself, go to the disneyland.com website. Click on the Annual Passports label at the top of the page. YOu'll have to register your pass and then you can click on Hotel Rates and Availability under the Annual Passholders drop down menu.

Looking at purchasing an AP online for our trip in Jan. I know you need your AP number to go on line to check for AP hotel discounts. Will I get my AP number as soon as I purchase it online or will it be given to me when I exchange my email voucher at the park? I'm interested in seeing if there are any hotel discounts for my dates. Thanks.

You used to be able to check after purchasing online, but now I'm almost certain you have to wait until you have your actual pass. You can call, though, and find out--you don't need a pass number to do that. My suggestion is to call the AP number directly. You usually get through faster and they don't ask for a pass number (714) 781-7277.

You can also post your dates and I, or another passholder, can check for you.

Thank you DizMe for the info. I'm looking at going Jan 1 to 7 2015. I called but they said there was nothing out yet for that date. When will the calendar be updated with AP prices for that week? Thanks.

That is anyone's guess! They briefly had some great rates for late fall, but they pulled them almost immediately. Sherry, one of our board mods, said that they typically come out with more ap rates late Sept-early Oct.

Thanks for the info DizMe. I will have to keep an eye out to see if they release any info in the next few weeks.

Well, yes and no. I really have no clue about AP rates or special discounts that extend to January. I've only paid attention to how the whole AP discount deal seems to work in the Fall (up through mid-December).

Just as far as the usual AP "Fall discounts" -- that cover some of the dates in October-November-December -- go, what I have noticed in the past is that an initial series of dates (like random weeks or blocks of dates) will open up on the AP hotel calendar for a Fall discount, like when it's first posted or announced. Some other weeks and dates will not show as available at that time.

Then, further on into Fall -- like sometime by/before the last week in October -- more dates (the second wave) will open up under the AP/Fall discounted rates (like some of the ones that previously showed as unavailable), but they may be gone in a few hours or they may linger on the calendar for a while. I have even seen some dates open up as late as early November (a possible 3rd wave).

When I have booked using a Fall AP rate in the past, I usually did it during the second wave of available dates appearing on the calendar and not during the first wave.

However, as we know, the DLR website layout and the whole AP section layout has changed this year. It looks different. And some of the rates are changing for certain dates every day or every other day, alternately getting lower or higher, or suddenly becoming unavailable or available.

So I am not sure what to expect this year because it seems like things are changing on a daily basis on the DLR website! My feeling is that there will still be some extra (AP discount) November or December dates that will open up before the end of this month and that Disney has been trying to book the more expensive rooms first, before releasing more rooms for discounts. However, they could always decide to change how they normally do things and not release any more dates under the discount.
