I am currently not a AP holder but if I could get the room discount, I would purchase one. I don't want to purchase an AP unless I can be sure to get the room rate. Am I correct in my understanding, that I can make a reservation with an AP discount and simply show my AP upon checkin? Do my other family members staying in the same room have to have an AP?

Thanks.

Book the AP rate, then get the pass before you check in. You only need one AP for up to three rooms (same time, same resort).

People here have reported using a childrens AP for room-only AP discount rates, as well as being able to check in with an unactivated voucher. I have not tried to do either.

We usually buy our AP when we get into MCO, at the Earport you can buy an activated one. We book the room and when the AP rates are released we call to have the AP rate applied to the ressie. Then, like I said above, we purchase our activated AP at the Earport and then go on to check in at the resort.
