AP discount with DVC annual pass?

I'm sitting here with my DVC AP trying to enter it into the Disney system so I can see what the current AP discount is. The trouble is that my pass doesn't quite match the ones shown on the screen. I chose the one that most closely matched, although mine seemed to have more bar codes, selected the right prefix (WTS, WTL, etc), entered the date and then got stuck because there was a space for a longish number to be filled out and my pass didn't have one--it had a short transaction and a ticket number in that space, but not the longer number the system seemed to expect. I entered various combinations of the transaction and ticket number, but only came up with "Enter the pass number as it appears on your ticket."

Is the DVC AP that much different than a regular AP? Can I not get an AP discount with it?

You don't enter the transaction number, only the ticket number even if it appears to be shorter than what you think it wants.

The only difference between a DVC AP and a Regular AP is the price.

Ah, thank you. They certainly know how to make it difficult. Now to decide if the AP discount is good enough for me to bite.

I asked the same questions months ago, here is the thread. I actually try registering my sister's ap for her and couldn't figure it out again lol, so I looked up my thread and it worked.
