AP Discount vs. Regular Discount

I am planning on a trip to WDW the first week of November for 5 days. I looked at mousesavers and the history page has dates of codes from last year for this time frame but not actual discounts. My question is what is the difference in Discounts for regular codes and AP codes for a Deluxe resort like AKL. If the difference is only $10-$15 a night it may not be worth it to me to buy APs and I am not quite ready to commit to a second trip within 12 months. If I get to that then the APs are a know brainer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is no hard and fast "rule" - sometimes the AP discounts are better and sometimes the code discounts are better. No way to know what will happen this year.

The good news is that you do not have to have an AP in hand to reserve a room with the AP discount. You can wait to see if they come out, and if/when they do, determine if it is the best discount available to you. If the AP discount is the best, you can book the room and then you can purchase the AP later. As long as you have it at check in, you'll be fine.
