This is my first year with an AP, and I was wondering how Disney blocks rooms for the various discounts.
What I am wondering is currently I have a room reserved at ASMovies in October. I booked at rack rate (prior to discounts), and am waiting on the AP discounts to come out to call and have them applied. Because the general public discount has been announced for that time period, will there be less AP rooms available for a discount? What are my chances of being able to call the morning of the AP discount and have it applied?
I keep thinking I should call now, and have the general public discount applied, then call back when the AP discounts come out and have that applied (not to stack discounts, but instead of GP switch to AP). I just hate to pay rack rates when the discounts are out there.
Does anyone know how this works? I want to make a quick weekend trip in December, and I have the same dilemma in making reservations now, or waiting.
Thanks!
