I need help figuring this out. We're planning a 7-day stay at Poly in mid-June 08. There is a possibility we'll need 2 rooms, so saving money has become key. We are already AAA members, but are trying to figure out if getting one AP would be worth our while? Any ideas? Can we book an AP rate first and then buy the pass if the rates are better, or do you have to have it in hand to book? Thanks for any advice! :confused3

You do not have to have the AP in hand to book the rooms but you will need the AP or the voucher when you check in.
The AAA rate comes out well before the AP rate so you would do better to reserve what you want using the AAA discount.
I have found that the difference between the AAA rate and the AP rate, especially at the deluxes is not a huge difference. We stayed at the Poly in 2005 and I booked with the AAA rate and then changed when the AP rates came out and I saved $11.00 a night.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but for the past 2 years, there were NO AP rates for mid-June. And the AP rates that did come out (for July/Aug) were only for the Epcot resorts and select DVC's...no Poly.

I'd take the AAA discount.

Thanks for these answers. They're a big help! I think I'll book the AAA rate when it comes out and wait and see what happens with AP.
