My brother and his family are AP holders. We will be going to a character breakfast together during our October trip to DL. He asked if he was able to get all of us a discount with his AP. Does anyone know the answer to that? :confused3 I wasn't sure, so I thought I would ask here.
Thanks for your help!!

if you have the AP with you, you will be able to get the discount on the entire party....

Just have it all on one bill and then there will be no problem.

One bill, and he needs to be the one paying since it's his AP.

As others have said, as long as he pays it will be fine. I have done that many times. I also will add that Goofy's Kitchen at the Disneyland Hotel gives a 10% AAA discount. Same as the Deluxe and So. Cal discounts (Premium holders receive 15% I think). So if you have AAA and are eating at Goofy's, you can get your own discount and pay separately. I believe that is the only character meal that offers an AAA discount, you might check their sight to verify if you have AAA.

Then the cashier was letting you get away with something that they shouldn't have--it's a non-transferable discount and says so in all the literature that they give you. It might be ok between spouses, but not siblings, parents, etc... Your AP, your discount.

All the character meals should give a AAA discount. Minnie & Friends does.

I think as long as the pass holder is in the party they will accept it, regardless of who pays the bill.

No, they won't. And at the Plaza Inn (where the Minnie breakfast is) they are very strict about it.

I agree, in that my experience has been they have been very strict about making sure the person on the AP is the person paying. Now at WDW, they have let me, the AP holding, Disney Dining Experience cardholder (separate dining discount card WDW AP holders can use for dining discounts) show my card and let someone else pay for the meal or get separate checks where everyone got the discount. But never at Disneyland.

Still, guys, it's cheating the rules. I've never, ever been able to use my AP discount when someone else was paying (anywhere). The rules state that the discount belongs to the AP holder--not their friends, family, etc... The money is supposed to come out of the AP holder's hand and credit cards must be in their name. Figure out what is owed to the AP holder before or after the transaction, but the AP holder is supposed to pay.

I dare you to try it at breakfast at PI--I can predict they'll say no.
