AP Discount Question

Okay, so here is my question. Hopefully I can word so that it makes sense!

I am planning on going to WDW in September. I currently have an 8 MYW ticket that I want to upgrade to an AP. The best way is to use it after a day to seal in the price. However, how do I still get the AP discount on my room if I don't technically have the AP until after the 1st day?

I would like to know for sure as we are thinking of doing this too.

I believe I read on another thread that they give you something like 24 hours to produce your Annual Pass to keep the room discount.

First off, I am just making sure that your 8 day ticket is completely unused. In order to upgrade, you must do it within 14 days of its first use.

Second, the front desk of the hotel will allow you to come back with the AP once you have it. Just tell them you are upgrading. We have never had an issue with this.
