Sorry guys for another question but mate and I wanted to know if we went ahead and purchased AP's whilst at the park would we be able to use them for discounts at that time or do you have to wait to use them? We've already got our park tickets for this visit so wouldn't need it to gain access to the park.:confused3
TIA

Nope you can use them straight away for the discounts. You also get a voucher which can be used for discount at restaurants (on top of presenting your pass for the 10% discount) so its worth doing it on your first day in the park and you can then start using that for your meals.

Get your APs your first day, then as Ruthie says, you can start getting your discounts straightaway.

Yes you can start using the discounts as soon as you get your APs. Last week, we were using our newly purchased Dream APs to get the 20% discount from the shops, and the Shareholders Club for the 15% from the restauants.

If you already have tickets for your next trip, is it worth buying the APs this time, you may lose out a few months on them depending when you go back again, so would your savings on food and shopping make up for the cost of your passes? or you could sell your existing tickets on an auction site then make full use of your APS??
:confused3

We've booked this trip as a package, of course after the booking we've discovered info about AP's!! I don't tihnk we get our tickets until we are on the train.

Both of us are Disney Mad but the one thing that stopped us from going before now to DLRP is the eurostar and my mate hates tunnels! She had to go last year with her nanny family by Eurostar, discovered that it wasn't as bad as she thought and now wants to go as many times as is possible - cash permitting!!

Already we are thinking of about 4 times we could use the pass espcially if we got the Dream one - Sept, Oct, Dec , Feb next year.

Would this be enough to cover the cost of the AP?

if you're going that many times then go for it i'd say!
you could stand at the gates and try to flog the tickets you do get lol!

Thanks Mulan, just needed an excuse really to buy one and you've been very helpful.:yay:

Just a quick question though, I thought I read somewhere that if you had an AP you couldn't use it on your 2nd or 3rd day??????:confused3

You cant use Francilien pass (the cheapest one) to access the parks on days 2 and 3. The others are fine

That restriction only applies if you purchase the cheapest AP, known as the Francillian.

Remember as well you only need 1 AP to get discount for the whole party on food, shopping, rooms etc so you could get away with just buying 1 this time and then the other later on your next trip - obviously the only problem with this is that they will run out at different times.
However it may mean you are not 'wasting' as much by getting 2 APs when you already have the tickets.
The other option is to get Fantasy or even Francilien passes for 1 person and dream for the other - the dream will get you better discounts.
It will mean only the person with dream will be able to do EMH if you ever stay off site so this is not an option if you think you may do this.
Also you would have to get Francilien this trip as we,ve said before it cant be used 2nd and 3rd days but as you already have tickets that wouldnt matter.
We were in a similar position last Easter having booked a package and then wanting APs. We did lots of sums and in the end decided it wasnt even worth getting 1 Ap then for discounts as what we'd save would be about same as we'd already 'wasted' on tickets. So we decided to wait til our next trip and stay off site, buy them then and start the 12 mths from then. We are still glad we did it this way as they would be running out in April whereas we can get an extra trip out of them in July before they run out

Intersting Post, its a small world.

Might have to sit down and work some sums out properly cos I think you can buy a 1 day ticket to get into the park and claim it back against an AP?

Yes you can do this or you can just buy your AP at the gate. We bought the day pass before we went and then claimed it back to save having to queue to get it
