AP discount on merchandise

We are staying at ASMovies on our upcoming trip so no AP dining discounts there. I was wondering if the AP merchandise discount would apply to snacks/drinks bought in the resort gift shop? I would mainly use this for grabbing breakfast stuff.

Earlier this year we did use it at the gift shop in both Polynesian and Boardwalk. Bought gallon of milk, oj, 2-liter of soda, that type of thing with the discount.
