ap discount on 2 bedroom VWL?

I tried to get the AAA dicount for my Feb 2005 trip on a 2 bedroom VWL and they cm said there was availability, but not with a discount. We are passholders and have had really great rates in the past... just not on any home away from homes. What room rates for a 2 bedroom at VWL could I hope to get? Please don't refer me to Mousesavers.com, Mary only shows when the discounts were released not what the rates were.

IF a discount was available on a VWL 2 bedroom, which I doubt, expect about $90 off per night. That's it. Lately the AP rates have been a straight $$$ off depending on resort level, not a % off like in the past. The AAA discount might actually work out better depending on season. Also, if there are no AAA discounted rooms available, most likely they wouldn't make any AP discounts available either. You have to remember that VWL only has 136 rooms, and only about 50 or so are 2 bedrooms. Of those 50 or so rooms, DVC owners have rights to 96% of them, which only leaves 2 available for cash bookings. There might be an extra thrown into the mix if a lot of VWL owners have traded their points out for non DVC options, but that's it. With such a small number available for cash ressies, I wouldn't expect a discount.

Renting points will probably (at least during the week) get you a rate that's better than an AP discounted rate.

It's difficult to get any discount at all on the smaller DVC Home-Away-From-Home resorts.

I agree with jel0511's post and I also agree with Lewisc - your best shot at a discount is renting points from a DVC member.
