AP Discount/Dining Packages (ROL, Pixar Live! etc)

Hi friends-

It is my understanding that the AP discounts available at restaurants is NOT available when you have a reservation for a Dining Package such as the ROL in Animal Kingdom or Pixar Live! at studios....can someone confirm if this is true? Currently have a package at Hollywood and Vine for breakfast with the Pixar/Fantasmic combo package, but it looks like Pixar is not difficult to view standby or by getting a FP+ later in the day....so thinking of switching it to a NON PACKAGE reservation as quite a few are open on the same day we have the package. Because of the anniversary the discount at H&V is 20% through September, so when you add in the additional 10 or so dollars for the package it becomes pretty significant in terms of the savings!

Not sure if this is the proper place to post, but hopefully someone has some insight ~ Thanks in advance......

I am wondering this same thing. Debating Hollywood Brown derby Fantasmic package or the same without a package. I had not even thought about the package not being discounted! It's like $65/person there, so 20% would be $65 for our party of 5!!

Darn - that seems really silly, I mean the FP to the show costs them NOTHING and you are still paying above the cost of the regular dining that they DO discount so in the end they are still reaping a bigger profit...oh well. At any rate, it seems fairly easy to get a FP for the Pixar show very close to show time so I think I'll probably drop it.
