AP discount and free dining?

Hi All!

I have our trip booked for 9/30-10/7. Got in on the wonderful free dining which helps us celebrate the boys bdays and our anniversary while we are there a little bit better!

Anyway, DH asked last night if the AP and free dining can be done in conjunction. I said no but to validate his ? thought I would ask here.

For those that are seasoned DISers, I would appreciate your thoughts.

I heard no. I was interested in the package until I realized for DH and I it would be cheaper to just book a room with AP or FL res discount than get the package, which cannot be discounted. We have postponed our trip now anyway, so we are waiting for December deals.

No I am afraid it can't be. Free dining has to be with a package, that includes tickets and a reg priced room.

No but some people have reported that all that you need to buy for tickets is a 1 day ticket.

Hi,
We have APs but for our upcoming Sept trip we booked 7n/8days at POR with one day base tickets and dinning for a total of $1200(rounded). When I checked AP rates when they came out from Sept 23rd through the 30th only CBR was avaiable and the differance between room only and room with food was only $485 so it was still a better deal to do the fee dining package instead of room only with the AP rate at POR.
