With an ever growing family, I am considereing staying in a 1 BR Boardwalk Villa this year (June). I was wondering if an AP code can usually/or has ever been used to reduce the $430 cost for the room?

I know I can use my Disney Club card for a 10% savings, but I am obviously hoping for a beeter deal than that.

Thanks

Glenn

BUMP

I'm bumping this post because I'd like to know this as well. I know you can rent points from a DVC member, but I'd also like to know about booking directly thru Disney.

Thanks!

I hope your family isn't too large. A one bedroom unit at a DVC resort is limited to four persons plus one infant under the age of 3. I think they do offer AP discounts since Disney keeps a small percentage of the total number of units - about 5% of them. If you decide to rent points, you need to make sure you do it ahead of time since most members are a bit leery of renting points less than 60 days out. Also, if it's a busy time of year (such as holidays and spring break) availability is difficult since members reserve their units at 11 or 7 months out.

If you have 5 family members (and none under the age of 3) you might want to consider a 2 bedroom unit which sleeps 8 plus one infant under 3.

Hi! In the past we have been able to get an AP rate at the
BWV for $187 plus tax for a 1 bedroom.

Since our family has grown, we now need a 2 bedroom. I was able to get a "come back rate" for a 2 bedroom at
BCV for $357 including tax.

I have rented points in the past, and I really enjoyed securing a reservation this way. However, with the come back rate, we are able to stay on a Fri. and Sat. night as well, without having to change resorts. When renting points, the weekend points are usually twice the amount of that during the week.

Good luck!

I booked a 2 br villa at OKW last week using a DC discount. The new code ( AXA ) that is out gives you a little better discount than that. We got a discount of about 15% using it. I asked the CM about AP rates for OKW and she said that usually they're pretty scarce and the AXA rate was fairly limited as well. I'm still hoping for an AP rate, but if you really want to move up to a 1 br, you might want to see what you can do with the AXA code.

peachgirl - when are you going that you were able to get the code discount?
