My two DDs and I are AP holders, but my DW is not. While we are running around in the parks, she will be lounging by the pool. Because she will be dining by herself for some meals, will she be able to get the AP discount on her food when she charges to the room, or because she is eating alone while the AP holders are elsewhere, will she not be able to get the discount?

In my experience, they have always asked to see the AP card and a photo ID for the restaurant discounts.

They want to see the AP and photo ID at the restaurant to get the discount. Otherwise too many people could just say they have an AP.

The only place I have not had to show my AP card was at California Grill. And that was once. All of the other times we have eaten there, I was asked for my card. I think it was just our waiter's lack of concern for rules.

I do find it to be somewhat pitiful that Disney spends a billion dollars on fast pass + and magic bands, but the AP card is a piece of plastic with your first name written on the back with a sharpie.

Like others have said she won't be able to get the discount if she dines/shops alone. I've always had to show my card and an ID to get the discount.
