Your DVC membership gets you discounts at some restaurants, correct? Which ones and how much. Which is the better discount. WE usually have 1 sit down dinner per day that we are there.
Someone correct me if I am wrong here, but I believe the regular DVC discount is 10%. The AP DDE discount is 20% after the $50 sign up fee. So I guess it really depends on how many sit down type dinners you plan on doing. We always do quite a few, so the DDE turned out ot be a better deal for us on this trip. We are going to end up saving almost $500 on food over the course of our 11 days.
The DDE is also good at many more restaurants without the same restrictions (like which meals its good on) and it covers alcoholic beverages, which the DVC discount doesn't.
The 10% DVC dining discounts are only good at certain meal times, such as lunch only or dinner only. Whereas, the 20% DDE discount is good for all dining times (including breakfasts).
We used this info to determine that with 4 trips in 12 months (don't ask) we can save a boatload by buying DVC discounted AP and the DDE which is also discounted. The link takes you to a very detailed comparison of all discounts.
one more question, for the Mickey Very Merry Xmas Party is that discount ONLY for the AP - or can the AP purchase discounted tickets for everyone in his party.
