AP, DDE discounts

Do either of these work with character meals? I have looked at the lists and dont see the places we were looking at for character dining - oh cant remember somethink like akerhas Norway, Epcot, 1900 Fare, and Crystal Palace. I am trying to decide on getting the DDE since everyone keeps saying how good it is but it didnt seem promising for paying for itself. Since deciding to purchase AP and go with a delux hotel, our trip cost went up $500 so we are really wanting to cut down on food costs. Planning on lots of granola, oatmeal, PB&J.

Here's the link to more info about DDE, it includes the list of restraunts. All of the one's you mentioned do accept the DDE card. We found it to be a great purchase. We did 2 character meals (Ohana and CRT) on our trip last month.

There are no AP discounts for Crystal Palace and 1900 Park Faire. I'm also pretty sure there are no AP discounts for the character meal in Norway.
The DDE discount is applicable at all three locations however.

Thanks, I was looking in the wrong place for Akerhas(sp?) and 1900 and had forgotten crystal palace. I had figured it MIGHT pay for itself but didnt know about being worth the trouble. Looks more promising for paying for itself. Have to do some more planning. How far ahead does it have to be ordered? I havent ordered the AP yet for hopes I may not have to.

The card is supposed to take about 6 weeks for delivery. However, in the meantime, they will email you a confirmation letter that you can use in place of the card.
I would order the card a couple of weeks before your trip and use the confirmation email for your discount. This has to do with getting your card to last as long as your AP.
