AP/Code Discount Question?

I'm thinking of making reservations for next summer at the WL. I just got a quote for $199/night. I was just curious as to what the average discount is from either a code or AP rate, just so I can get a round-about idea. Also, we will purchase new AP's for this possible trip: do I need to have already purchased the AP's before I arrive to receive the discount? If we purchase them now, does the One year validity start upon purchase, or upon first use? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Andrew, I have recently read a post on this board from someone saying that she usually figures about 40% off the rack rate plus the 11% tax. However, someone replied saying that last year the discount was closer to 30%,so figure from there, don't forget to add the tax No, you do not have to have the AP when you call to make the ressie, just make sure you have it when you check in. Also, the one year validity starts on the first day you use the pass, so go ahead and purchase it whenever you want, no problem. Enjoy WL!
