Just read post on Code Board that the BRP has been eliminated & replaced by AP 2006 rates...no more 60 day window & not sure about cancellation policy, although booking is supposedly only thru early April.

As I have a horrible time signing in on the AP site for some reason, can anyone else verify this info?

Hope it's true...

Here's what I found after I logged in to the Passhold website:

Take advantage of this great benefit that allows Passholders to book a last minute trip or plan ahead. This benefit replaces the Passholder Best Rate Program*.

For Passholders who like to make last minute plans, there is no longer a 60-day advance booking requirement. You can now book a room right up to the travel period (subject to availability).
For Passholders who like to plan ahead, you can now see offers months in advance.
Normal deposit/cancellation fees apply.

Enjoy access to great offers and experience the ease and convenience of booking online. Book online now by selecting the "Book Now" button. Or call (407) 560-PASS (7277)† to make your reservations. Please be sure to mention the booking code specified below.

Current Resort Offers:

Available most nights 1/16 - 2/4/06
$79 per night plus tax at a select Moderate Resort in a standard room**
Booking Code: BKE

Available most nights 2/5 - 2/15/06
$99 per night plus tax at a select Moderate Resort in a standard room**
Booking Code: EZA
Available most nights 2/20 - 4/8/06
$80 per night plus tax at a select Value Resort in a standard room**
Booking Code: EZK
The number of rooms available at this rate is limited.

* For Passholders who already have a room booked through the Passholder Best Rate Program, your reservation is not affected by this change.
** Other room types are available at varying rates. Passholder must present his or her valid adult Pass at check in. Additional per adult charges apply if more than two adults (18 or older) per room. No group rates or other discounts apply. Advance reservations required. Offer will also be made available to certain non-Passholders in other select promotions.

So what do you think "normal deposit/cancellation fees apply" means?...

Non-refundable or regular 5 days prior?

Additionally, not sure if it's how my computer is loading the AP site or whether I'm just can't find it but, where is the 'button' located on the page to click for reservations?

TIA

Well its about darn time!!! It just shows that a lot of us voiced our opinions and they made what was initially a disaster into something better.

Thanks for posting this news. Glad they listened to all us unhappy AP holders.

We had booked a good rate for this weekend's Pop Century stay, but I've been trying to get something for May and June, and maybe this will work better. I had been frustrated, for years it seemed I heard about AP discounts for rooms, and when we finally got the AP, the discounts seemed very hard to get.

Woo hoo!!! Although I was using my DVC during the whole BRP nightmare, and wasn't as impacted as a result, here is one last minute traveller who is sooooo grateful.

I suspect that they had a large decline in AP members booking, and perhaps AP renewals as well.

While WDW occupancy rates were reportedly up in 2005, the lack of an AP rate within 60 days of arrival most likely did have an impact. Think of all those people within 500 miles who most likely book last minute, and won't pay full price.

I feel the same way...it's like being all dressed up with no where to go!!!

I could be wrong but I believe the deposit is non-refundable period. Once you say you're going, you're paying for that one night whether or not you keep the reservation. But, I have been wrong before.

So no discounts for deluxes???
The info CarolMN posted states: "** Other room types are available at varying rates." Mousesavers lists the currently available discounts for all room types, including deluxes. (Discounts for deluxes varied from $70 to $133 depending upon your travel dates.)

Mousesavers also states there is no change or cancellation fee if you made your modification more than 5 days ahead of your travel dates (edited to add) and you booked by phone!

Edited to add: I still can't get in to the passholders' website but mousesavers is stating that there is a different cancellation period for phone bookings vs. online bookings. If you booked over the phone, there is no penalty to change/cancel your reservation if you do so more than 5 days before check-in. If you booked online, you must change/cancel at least 46 days before check-in to avoid cancellation fees.

Given that we've been hearing Disney wants to cut costs by having people book online rather than calling CRO, that's a major disincentive!

umm..., can anyone tell me where to find the button/section on the Passholder page to actually book a room (my computer running on dial-up isn't loading everything on the page)....rapidly getting frustrated.

Please, just point me in the right direction & I'll probably find it;)

This is excellent news! Can now get back to booking vacations based on APH specials and flight deals.

Oh, goodie...I was not able to take advantage of any last minute travel under BRP and now with this I can get a few extra weekends in. I really didn't like the way that worked--I never have a problem with the whole book where you want to stay thing, but I always book either tons of time in advance--a year-- or last minute. Glad this is more flexible!

:cool1: I just got an email yesterday from WDW about my recent contact with them voicing my disappointment over this. I'm SOOOO glad they listened to all of us. WAY COOL!
